The Regional Championships in Hannover

This season, Hartwig Burfeind riding Goofy de Lully, wins yet another title and is now Regional Champion of the Hannover Area Association.

Hartwig Burfeind had to concede defeat in the second test, a Gran Prix Kur and allow Julia-Katharina Platen-Elmerhaus the place at the top of the leader board, however due to the very fine margin of 0.083% he managed to secure the title by winning the Grand Prix.

As well as winning the Grand Prix (70.993%) and coming second in the Grand Prix Kur (71.5%) with Goofy de Lully, the weekend in Hannover was very successful for his other rides, Active Private Dancer (2nd in the Grand Prix/69.362%), De Nada (won the Intermediary I/69.649% and came 2nd in the Prix St. Georg/67.895%) and Wunschträumer (won the Prix St. Georg/69,123% and came 2nd in the Intermediary I/69.649%).

25th-27th June
The Horse Show in Schenefeld

The Elbdörfer and Schenefelder Reitverein e.V staged their Summer Horse Show from the 25th - 27th June just outside Hamburg.

The 8 year old Wunschträumer is in very good form and improves from show to show, he came 2nd in not only in a Dressage Class S* with 69.250% but also in the St. Georg Special/S*(70.000%).

Hartwig Burfeind riding De Nada won the Prix St. Georg, a Dressage S* with 69.123% and his second horse Active Valentino came 5th with 66.404%. Both horses were also successful in the Intermediary II (S**). De Nada won the test with 69.474% and Active Valentino came 3rd with 67.632%.

Hartwig Burfeind's ride, Active Private Dancer, was successful in both the main highlights of the Schenefeld Summer Horse Show; a short Grand Prix and a Grand Prix. In the short Grand Prix he came 6th (65.854%) and he finished the Grand Prix in 2nd place with 69,291%.

17th - 20th June
Horse Show in Bargstedt

Between 17th - 20th June, Juliane Brunkhorst and Harwig Burfeind were guests at the Reitverein Harsefeld u.U., Juliane Brunkhorst's home club.

The "local hero", Juliane Brunkhorst and Flirt de Lully came 2nd (65.789%) in the Dressage Class S***(Intermediary II). In the yard internal duel, Hartwig Burfeind and Active Private Dancer had to accept defeat and the 3rd place (65.088%) behind Juliane Brunkhorst.

The up and coming youngster, Wunschträumer, an 8 year old gelding sired by White Star out of a Lauries Crusador xx mother, won the Dressage Class S* and thereby qualified to take part in the Prix St. Georg, a Dressage Class S*. In the test, this talented young horse gave a concentrated and motivated performance and was rewarded with the 4th place (67.018%).

On the Sunday the final day of the show, Hartwig Burfeind was successful in two tests. A Dressage Class M, a qualification for the National Championships for 6 year old dressage horses, he came 3rd (8.0) riding Diamonitt. The highlight in the dressage arena at the show in Bargstedt, was the Grand Prix which was dominated by Hartwig Burfeind and Goofy de Lully, they won with 68.227%. Hartwig Burfeind's second horse, Active Private Dancer came 3rd with 66.241%. Juliane Brunkhorst and Flirt de Lully (64.397%) narrowly missed a place on the leader board.

Hartwig Burfeind wins the German National Professional Riders Championships for the second time

With a perfect result - as defending champion, Hartwig Burfeind won the 1st and 2nd qualifications and then went on to win the final and so defend his title.

25.04.2010 - the German National Professional Riders Championships is always a very special event, not only because it takes place during "Horses and Dreams" in Hagen but also because in the final, the three best pairs must exchange horses, so that each rider also rides the mounts of the other finalists. This means the professional riders skills are put to a very special test.

After Hartwig Burfeind had won the first qualification, a Grand Prix de Dressage as well as the second qualification, a Grand Prix Special, it was, according to the report on ST-Georg-Online, his relaxed approach that led to his winning the championship.

Hartwig Burfeind wins The North German Professional riders Championship for the fourth time in a row

The Hamburger Reitverein have been organising The North German Professional Riders Championship at their facility for more than 20 years.

07.04.2010 - even if you wanted to put it modestly, this year in particular, there was no way passed Hartwig Burfeind at The North German Professional Riders Championship. Not only did he win at the special stages, the Gran Prix and the Grand Prix Kur but the pro from Sandbostel, also won the dressage competition Level S* and the Grand Prix St Georges which were both part of the supporting programme.

On Saturday, Hartwig Burfeind, riding Goofy de Lully, put the competition under pressure by winning the Grand Prix with 69.787%. On Sunday he defended his title by winning the Grand Prix Kur with 75.417%. This is the fourth time he has won the championship and each time he has ride was Goofy de Lully.

De Nada and Cocon rounded off the successful weekend, Da Nada won the Dressage Level S* (69.417%) and a Prix St Georges (70.351%) and Cocon was third at Level S* with 67.750%

Juliane Brunkhorst wins at Intermediate II Level

On 7th March the Dressage Rider Club Berlin organise a late entry competition at the riding facilities of the Bon Homme Breeding Station in Werder. Juliane Brunkhorst started with Flirt de Lully and Dumont.

11.02.2010 - it doesn't really get better than this - Flirt de Lully took part in his first Intermediate II and won with 68.158%. However Juliane Brunkhorst was her own "hardest competitor" and the second place also went to Sandbostel, Dumont was given a rating of 66.930% which was the 2nd place.

Off to a great start

Hartwig Burfeind laid down a great start to the season at the indoor event in Verden. Riding his top horse, Goofy de Lully, he was triumphant right across the board.

18.01.2010 - two starts - two wins, results to be proud of. Last weekend Hartwig Burfeind and his 16yr old stallion, dominated the competition both in the short Grand Prix and the Kur at Grand Prix level. He had to compete against the Olympic team winner Heike Kemmer and "Mr Federal Champion" Holga Finken. However no one could compete with Burfeind's results, 70% in the Grand Prix and the even higher 74.6% in the Kur. Hartwig Burfeind was not only more than satisfied with the results but also with his horse. "It is not always easy for Goofy in the indoor arena; he is easily distracted by the special atmosphere, however here in Verden he was in excellent form. It felt really good" The year can continue as it has begun. The reigning Professional Riders Champion has plans for the coming season, not only for the very successful Goofy bur also for some of the hopeful youngsters in his stables.

Hartwig Burfeind is ranked 2nd on the FN ranking list

27.11.2009 - The 2009 season ends very positively for Hartwig Burfeind, as the FN officially announce that he is ranked 2nd on the German ranking list for dressage riders. He laid the foundations for his success by convincingly winning both the German National Professional Riders championship and the North German Championship for Professional Riders, not to mention numerous other victories at Grand Prix level.
